Bobby Gene Floyd

July 14, 1940 ~ April 22, 2023 (age 82) 82 Years Old



Bobby Gene Floyd was born on July 14, 1940, in Alamo Georgia. To Deroy and Mammie Floyd. Mr. Bobby passed away on April 22, 2023.

Bobby is preceded in death by his parents Deroy and Mammie Floyd, brothers: W.D., Robby, James (Poss), Billy and David Floyd.  sisters: Irene Williams, Frances Dyal, Joyce and JoAnn Floyd.

He is survived by sons: Bobby Gregory Floyd (Debbie), and Ricky Floyd. One daughter: Sylina Cowart. 5 grandchildren: Victoria Floyd, Lexi Floyd, Garrett Floyd, Samantha Bergens (TJ), Timothy Cowart (Kristina); brother: J.E. (Barbara) Floyd; sister: Hazel Taylor. 5 great-grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces.

Bobby worked at Greens Fuel then Coker Fuel for several years before going to work for the state of Florida in 1972. He started out at G Pierce Woods in Arcadia and eventually was transferred to the prison in Arcadia from which he retired in 2002.
After his retirement, Bobby moved back to Georgia to be closer to his siblings and eventually moved back to Florida to be with his children.
Bobby enjoyed listening to music and dancing He enjoyed going to the Elvis show at the Panda restaurant in Wauchula. He loved his family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them.

Services will be held on Friday April 28, 2023, in the Chapel of Wainright Parlor Funeral Home beginning at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until service hour. Rev. Shon McEachin will officiate. Burial will follow at Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery.  

Wainright Parlor is in charge of the arrangements.
