Mr. Bobby Hue Googe, age 84, of Hazlehurst, died at his residence October 17, 2020.
Mr. Googe was born November 25, 1935 in Hazlehurst, Georgia; he was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Googe and Mary Hester Googe, a son, Robert Edward Googe, a brother, Samuel Edward Googe and a sister, Marguerite Googe, He was a member of Southside Baptist Church and taught the Adult Sunday School Class at various churches for over 37 years. He was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War before retiring as a Master Sergeant from the United States Marine Corp. He also served as a drill instructor at Parris Island.
He is survived by his wife, Delores (Dee)Hawkins Googe of Hazlehurst, four children, Patricia (Allan) Bibb of Largo, FL, James Googe of Ft Pierce, FL, Michele Googe of Hazlehurst, and James Allan White of Cornelius, North Carolina, a daughter-in-law, Maria Googe of Tennessee, a brother, Henry Googe of Hazlehurst, two sisters, Glenda Smith of Washington and Tami Googe of Florida, seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, and eleven step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at 11:00AM, in the Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Stan Taylor officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions, in memory of Mr. Googe, be made to The Jeff Davis Gideons, P.O. Box 1656, Hazlehurst, Georgia 31539.
