Bobby Lee Johnson

Mr. Bobby Lee Johnson, age 83, of Hazlehurst, passed away Friday, September 05, 2025, at his residence, surrounded by his family.

Mr. Bobby was born October 07, 1941, in Appling County to the late Willie Lee Johnson and Nellie Mae Stone Johnson. He was a wonderful man, deeply loved by his family, friends, and all who knew him. He had many passions in life. He loved spending time outdoors, especially fishing and running dogs for deer and rabbit hunting. A devoted sports fan, he cheered faithfully for the Georgia Bulldogs, the Atlanta Braves, and his hometown Jeff Davis Yellow Jackets. He also had a farmer’s heart, happiest when he was driving his old Ford tractor.

Family was the center of Bobby’s world, and he especially cherished time with his grandchildren. Whether sitting on the back porch swinging to the sound of old country music, or enjoying the company of his beloved dog, Lilly Mae, Bobby found joy in the simple things. He will be remembered as a loving family man, a loyal friend, and someone who truly made life brighter for those around him.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Janette Lariscey Johnson; sister, Eva Jean Reese; and brothers, Truman Jiohnson and Eddie Lee Johnson.

Survivors include his daughter, Tammy Lanette Johnson of Hazlehurst; son and daughter-in-law, Bobby Gene Johnson (Mary) of Martin Ga.; sisters, Diane Gruber (Jerry) of Baxley and Patricia (Sissy) Solomon (Dallas) of Hazlehurst; brothers, Robert Johnson, Herman Johnson (Linda) and Raymond (Pete) Johnson all of Baxley; four grandchildren, Brystal Johnson, Raelynn Johnson, Janie (Kyle) McLendon and Jana (Neil) Williams; four grandsons, Bentley McLendon, Brody McLendon, Caleb Carter and Colt Carter; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 07, 2025, from 5:00pm-8:00pm in the Chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home.

The Funeral Service will be held Monday, September 08, 2025, at 1:00pm at Southside Baptist Church, with Rev. Jinker Horton and Rev. Thurman Hayes officiating.

Interment will follow in the Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Travis Johnson, Brian Johnson, Chad Beach, Jason Gruber, Chris Stone, and Jaxon McEachin.

The Hazlehurst Mills R & D Department will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home and the Johnson Family was in charge of all arrangements.
