Brenda Starr (Hand) Garrett

Ms. Brenda Starr Hand Garrett, age 75, of Hazlehurst, passed away January 01, 2025, at her residence.

Ms. Garrett was born April 15, 1949, in Jeff Davis County.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl Hand Sr. and Naomi Carter Hand, husband, Paul Thomas Garrett, siblings, Eula Mae, Carldine, Billie Jean, Mary Catherine, Betty Louise, Myrtice Yvonne, Elizabeth Christine, Bobby Joe and Carl Jr., also her beloved fur baby, Charlie.

She loved to cook, was a hard worker, and gave her all to everything.

She loved going on vacations and pampering herself. Also, she was a dedicated mother, G-ma, sister, aunt, and friend. One of her greatest joys was loving her family and spoiling her boys and grandbabies.

Survivors include her two sons, Ronald Justin Quinn of Baxley and Michael Joshua and Cheree Hughes of Hazlehurst; brother; Raymond Hand (Gail) of Alabama; niece Lynn Thompson of Decatur and nephew, Mike Thompson of Ellijay; 5 grandchildren; Heaven Quinn, Payton Crawford, Kayden Beecher, Dakota Spence, Ian McDaniel and Tyler Hughes; two great-grandchildren, Jaxon Spence and Landry Spence; also, several nieces and nephews also survived.

A visitation will be held Saturday, January 04, 2025, in the Chapel of Wainright-Parlor from 5:00-7:00pm.

 Funeral Services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:00pm in Wainright-Parlor Chapel with Rev. Kory Gordon officiating.

Interment will follow in the Hazlehurst City Cemetery.

Joshua Hughes, Justin Quinn, C.J. Cook, Jr., Dakota Spence, Ryan Quinn, and Mitchell Long will serve as active pallbearers.
