Cindy Hulett Obituary

Ms. Cindy Hulett, age 83, of Hazlehurst, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at the Jeff Davis Hospital.

Ms. Hulett was born on June 25, 1940, in Long County.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lewis Hawkins and Ruth Ratliff Hawkins, her husband, John Ira Hulett Sr. and her son, John Ira Hulett Jr.

Ms. Cindy was a Homemaker and member of the First Baptist Church of Hazlehurst. She was an awesome wife, mama and me-ma and she took those responsibilities very seriously. She was an awesome cook and was famous for her divinity and her fudge. She was very involved with her church as a Sunday School Teacher and singing in the choir.  She enjoyed using her talents to glorify the Lord by singing for revivals and especially for funerals. In early years she and her entire family enjoyed hosting her church family Christmas Celebration at her home. They would move furniture out of their house to accommodate everyone. The home was always beautifully decorated by Ms. Cindy, everyone had lots of fun, great food and fellowship.  She made sure no one left empty handed, they all left with homemade goodies.

Ms. Cindy always would say “I have more family in heaven than I have here” her children said she was ready to go home.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne Hulett Coleman and Gary of Hazlehurst; four grandchildren, Russ Coleman, Brent (Ali) Coleman, Jaiden Hulett and Jamison Hulett; six grandchildren, Gavin Coleman, Jonas Coleman, Garrison Coleman, Everli Coleman, Jensen Coleman and Alanna Gonzalez,; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, December 15, 2023, at 2:00pm at First Baptist Church of Hazlehurst with Rev. Brad Waters officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.

Interment will follow in the Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery.
