Connie Faye Taylor

Ms. Connie Faye Taylor, age 62, of McRae, passed away Monday, June 02, 2025, at Lumber City Nursing Home.

She was born on February 27, 1963 in Telfair County. Connie was best known as “Mema,” a title she wore with pride and love. She poured her heart into her family and truly excelled at being a grandmother. Some of her happiest days were spent fishing on the Gulf with her son, cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs, or watching NASCAR—always rooting for her favorite driver, Jeff Gordon.

She had a deep appreciation for the little things that brought her joy: butterflies, the color purple, and the constant companionship of her beloved fur baby, Gizmo. Connie was a wonderful cook, an avid reader of action-packed thrillers, and enjoyed unwinding with her favorite crime shows on TV. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories, and will be truly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Taylor and Barbara Hartley Taylor; and her brother, Lowell Taylor.

Her family includes her son, Stephen (Kristy) Taylor of Ocala, FL; daughter, Barbara (Thomas) Mercer of Uvalda; and three step-daughters, Wendy, Amy and Tiffany; brother, Robert (Kathy) Taylor of Hazlehurst; sister, Karen (Timmy) Rentz of Hazlehurst; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at Snow Hill Baptist Church in Alamo with Curtis Wells officiating.
