Daniel Stewart Yawn

Mr. Daniel Stewart Yawn, age 65 of Hazlehurst, passed away January 15, 2025, at Community Hospice in Vidalia.

Mr. Yawn was born on March 07, 1959, in Zenia Ohio but had resided in Hazlehurst most of his life.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bryant Abraham Yawn and Marlene Guthmiller Yawn. He was previously employed in Maintenance with Core Civic in McRae.

Stewart was a plain simple southern country boy, he loved his family and had great work ethics. Other than his family, his true love was the River, he wanted to be there all the time, that was his safe haven, fishing or just listening to the sounds.

His family said he could have been called a river-rat.

He will be sadly missed by all.

Survivors include his wife, Carrie Silvers Yawn of Hazlehurst; daughter and son-in-law, Codi Danielle (John) Marsh of Baxley; step-daughter and son-in-law, Teresa Lynn and Waymon Lewis of Hazlehurst; brother, Guy Schwartz (Shirley) of Reno Nevada; sisters, Lynette Johnston (John), Janice Yvone Boloton,  Karen Dee Yawn , and Teresa Diane Hobart (Doug) all from California; six grandchildren, Rylie Marsh, Oliver Brewer, Savannah Lewis, Andrew Lewis, Spencer Marsh and Esmé Marsh; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Per Mr. Yawn's wishes, he will be cremated, and no services will be held.

Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
