Mr. David Wayne Headley, age 69, of Hazlehurst, passed away Wednesday, November 01, 2023 at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross.
Mr. Headley was born on June 23, 1954 in Maryland.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lucy Headley
He served in the National Guard, was a member of the Veterans Association in Jeff Davis County, and a member of Satilla Free Will Baptist Church. He was a truck driver and hauled for many different companies including Metro Meat Seafood and Poultry, and Coca Cola. He drove many miles with his beloved pet and riding partner Dixon. He loved to cook, joke around, and was always happy.
Survivors include his wife Carol Cassell Headley of Hazlehurst; daughter, Kristine Scott of Hazlehurst; brother, John Headley of Maryland; sister, Debra Clark of Virginia; grandchildren, Shane Heard, Dominique Washington and Alanna Heard, and one great-granddaughter on the way.
Visitation and Funeral Services will be held Sunday, November 05, 2023 at Satilla Free Will Baptist Church, visitation begins at 2:00pm and the funeral service will follow at 3:00pm with Rev. Paul Smith and Mr. Carroll Walker officiating.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The Jeff Davis Veterans Association will serve as active pallbearers.
