David Randall Thigpen

David R. Thigpen, 63, of Anderson, died Monday, May 8, 2023, at his residence. He was born in Jacksonville, FL to Winifred Elton Thigpen and the late Russell Thigpen.

David retired from Michelin Tire Company after many years of dedicated service. He was an avid musician who enjoyed playing his guitar and spending time with family and friends.

Mr. Thigpen is survived by his mother, Winifred of Hazelhurst, GA; two daughters, Heather Squires (Jason) and Crystal Layton (Carl) both of Lake Park, Georgia; his companion, Maureen McGinley of Iva, SC; two sisters, Lori Thomas (Kevin) of Hazelhurst, GA and Denise Carter (Todd) of Brunswick, GA; two granddaughters, Hayden Squires and Sydney Layton of Lake Park, GA.

Two services to celebrate David’s life will be held. The first service will be 2:oopm, Sunday, May 21, 2023, at the Wainright Parlor funeral home chapel, Hazelhurst, GA. The second service will be 1:00pm, Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Tucker’s Restaurant in Anderson, SC.
