David R. Thigpen, 63, of Anderson, died at his residence on Monday, May 8, 2023. He was born in Jacksonville, FL to Winifred Elton Thigpen and the late Russell Thigpen.
David retired from Michelin Tire Company after many years of dedicated service. He was an avid musician who enjoyed playing his guitar and spending time with family and friends.
Mr. Thigpen is survived by his mother, Winifred of Hazlehurst, GA; two daughters, Heather Squires (Jason) and Crystal Layton (Carl) both of Lake Park, Georgia; his companion, Maureen McGinley of Iva, SC; two sisters, Lori Thomas (Kevin) of Hazlehurst, GA and Denise Carter (Todd) of Brunswick, GA; two granddaughters, Hayden Squires and Sydney Layton of Lake Park, GA.
Two services to celebrate David’s life will be held. The first service will be at 2:oopm, Sunday, May 21, 2023, at the Wainright Parlor funeral home chapel, Hazlehurst, GA. The second service will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Tucker’s Restaurant in Anderson, SC.
