(HAZLEHURST, GA) 1st SGT. Donald Eschol Carr, USAR (RET.) 82, passed away Friday, April 2, 2021 at the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center. Graveside funeral services with Military Honors will be held on Tuesday, April 6, 2021, 11:00 AM at Riverside Cemetery in Lumber City, GA. Pastor Andy Brownlee, William Vaught and Greg Senters will officiate.
Mr. Carr, a native of LaGrange, GA was the son of the late Eschol E. and Estelle (Smith) Carr and his wife, (Betty Hulette Carr). He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War receiving numerous medals, was a member of Lumber City United Methodist Church, a retired truck driver with Fuel South, enjoyed baseball, football, fishing, talking and taking up time with children.
Surviving family members include his Daughter, Michelle (Tony) Lane of Alabama, Step-Children; JoAnn (Earl) Ferguson, Wayne (Sherry) Hubbard, Janet (Steve) Priester, Charles (Jennifer) Hubbard. Sisters; Frankie (Joe) Drumright of Houston, Texas, Brenda Kuck of Florida and Jean Killingsworth of Alabama. A special niece and caregiver Lucy Strickland of Lumber City, GA, several nieces and nephews, several Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
