Mr. Emmett H. O’Conner, age 82, of Hazlehurst, died Thursday, November 05 at East Georgia Regional Hospital in Statesboro.
Mr. Emmett was born October 17, 1938 in Montgomery County. He is preceded in death by his parents, Buck O’Conner and Ethel Lawrence O’Conner, great-grandson, Cadence Rhett King, sister, Nellie Joiner and brother, Johnny O’Conner. He was a Veteran of the United States Army,
and was retired from Hazlehurst Mills as an Equipment Operator. He also enjoyed driving a truck for Beasley Products, was a member of Hazlehurst Church of God and formerly attended Oak Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Mrs. Marian Pickren O’Conner of Hazlehurst; daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Tim Mason of Hazlehurst;
three grandchildren, Cory Mason (Candice) of Hazlehurst, Ashley Davis (Dylan) of Hazlehurst and Kayla King (Justin) of Hazlehurst; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at 1:00pm at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Keith Yawn officiating.
