The family moved to Helena, Ga in 1972 where she worked as a contractor house painter with her husband and brother-in-law for several years. Geneva was also a preacher for several years at the Congregational Holiness Church that was located across from the baseball field in Helena, Ga. Due to health issues, she moved to Springdale, Arkansas to live with her daughter.
