Harvey Leon Prater Jr.

Mr. Harvey Leon Prater, Jr., age 56, of Hazlehurst, died Saturday, October 15, 2022, at Meadows Memorial in Vidalia.

Mr. Prater was born on August 29, 1966.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey Leon Prater Sr. and Dorothy Chriswell Prater and wife, Erika Hartsfield Prater, and sister, Barbara Winston.

For the last 20 years, he made Jeff Davis County his home, coming from Tampa FL. He was a Counselor at 24/7 House Baxley and he took his job very seriously. He was a devoted family man, he enjoyed bowling, and working in the yard but his favorite thing was spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his son Dustin Prater; daughter, Nichole Thompson (Dracy), Stephanie LePage, Heather Crumpton (Keith), and Keilah Prater;

grandchildren, Devarious, Dracy, D’Vonte, Dre’Shon, De’Andre, Dra’Cole, Zoe, Kayanna, Aurora, Devon, and Hunter; one brother, eight sisters, and several nieces and nephews survive.
