Hazel king Obituary

Mrs. Hazel Elton King, age 71, of Baxley, died Saturday, March 20, 2022 at her residence.

Mrs. King was born December 27, 1950 in  Telfair County.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John Elton Sr. and Shirley Lowery Elton, and sister Mary Sue Day.  She was a retired teacher with Appling County Board of Education and a member of Baxley Christian Fellowship. Her heart was teaching her students, but in her spare time she enjoyed playing tennis, enjoyed her pets, shopping, trips to the mountains and the beach. She loved spending time with her family and especially her husband Tony and daughter Toni Maria.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Tony G. King of Baxley; daughter, Toni Maria Bowers (Billy) of Baxley, brother, John Elton Jr (Lisa) of Hazlehurst.

The family will be receiving friends 10:00am at Wainright Parlor Funeral Home, Tuesday, March 22, 2022, and a Graveside Funeral Services will be held  11:00am in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Roger Daniels officiating.

Active pallbearers will be Sandy Dominy, Dinah Lane, Debbie Stichcomb, Pam Deal, Vickie Ricketson and Janice Wilson.

The King Family and Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home respectfully ask all in attendance to continue to follow social distancing guidelines set by our local health district and the CDC.
