Mrs. Imogene Jackson, age 71, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends.
Mrs. Imogene was born in Collins, GA to the late Mr. John Lee Jackson and Ms. Laura M. Moore Jackson. She was a homemaker and loved spending time with her friends and family. She also loved reading her bible and was a great cook. She enjoyed drinking coffee and fishing. But most of all she loved the Lord and her children.
Survivors include her sons, Preston Thornton of Hazlehurst, Dewitt Thornton of Hazlehurst, Jason Thornton of Lumber City, daughters, Laronda Carter of Hazlehurst, Stephanie Thompson of Pigeon Forge, TN, Angie Dubberly of Hazlehurst, sister, Margaret Bohannon of Hazlehurst, 14 grandchildren, 21 great grand children and her fur baby Gracie.
Services for Mrs. Jackson will be held Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Chapel beginning at 2:00 PM. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Rev. Thomas Colter will officiate. Interment will follow at Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery.
Jason Thornton, Randy Carter, Logan Breedlove, Blake Thompson, Gavin Jones, Lee Chavis and Olin Thornton will serve as pall bearers.
