Obituary
Mr. Jackie “Turtle” Fleming, age 71, of Hazlehurst passed away Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Atrium Health Navicent Hospital in Macon.
Mr. Fleming was born June 29, 1951, in Jeff Davis County.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack Fleming and Inez Brantley Fleming.
He enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest, truly he enjoyed fishing, and spending time with his family. But his life was Trucking and for over 43 years, he persuaded his happiness. He attended the Lumber City Baptist Church.
Survivors include five sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph Thomas Fleming (Jessica) of Folkston, James Thomas Fleming of Hazlehurst, Brian Thomas Fleming (Cindy) of Hazlehurst, Michael Shaun Fleming of Brunswick, step-son, Michael Todd Brewer (Allie) of Valdosta; step-daughter, Candace Brewer of Hazlehurst; two sisters, Rhonda Hewlett of Fargo and Kaye Masters of Fargo; nine grandchildren, Thomas Joseph (Katie) Fleming, Ryan (Faith) Andrews, Adam Fleming, Christopher Fleming, Brianna Fleming, Thomas Fleming, Matthew Fleming, Lani Fleming, and Titus Brewer; three great-great-grandchildren, Colton Fleming, Paisley Fleming, and Elizabeth Bennett; nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 17, 2023, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in the Chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 18, 2023, at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home with Rev. David Johnson officiating.
Matthew Fleming, Thomas Fleming, Ryan Andrews, Christopher Fleming, Mikey McDaniel, Thomas J. Fleming, and Adam Fleming will serve as active pallbearers.
