Mr. James Howard Brantley, age 90, of Hazlehurst, died Monday, September 26, 2022 at his residence.
Mr. Brantley was born April 10, 1932 in Jeff Davis County.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lott Warren Brantley and Alice Herrington Brantley, and sisters, Gertrude Collins, Ruby Lee Bland, Inez Flemming, Opal Ray, and Lilly Maude Newham, and brother, L.W. Brantley.
Mr. James was a humble, successful farmer. He was an honest, hardworking man all of his life.
He loved his family dearly and loved spending time with them, especially his wife and grandkids. He enjoyed fishing and the companionship of his dog Trixie.
He was a member of Satilla Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife Mrs. Willie Mae Brantley of Hazlehurst; daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and Glenn Kemp of Hazlehurst and Jan and Rob Stone of Hazlehurst; sister, Ethel Mae Hutchenson of Waycross; grandchildren, Mary Katherine Kemp, Brantley and Tricia Stone, and Ethan Stone.
Visitation and Funeral Services will be held Thursday, September 29, 2022 in the Chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home, visitation will begin at 10:00 am and the funeral service will follow at 11:00 am with Rev. Tyrone Hutcheson and Mr. Jimmie Ryles officiating.
Interment will follow in the Satilla Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Ricky Ursery, Greg Brantley, Hugh Brantley, Larry Brantley, Jimmy Toler, Mitch Herrington, Tommy Williams, and David Ray.
