Mr. James Harold Brewer, age 78, of Lumber City passed away Friday, November 19, 2021 at St Vincent’s Riverside in Jacksonville FL.
Mr. Brewer was born May 04, 1943 in Telfair County.
He is preceded in death by his parents Jack Randolph Brewer and Frankie Hulett Brewer, sister, Virginia Brewer Rozier; brother, William Frank Brewer; and his partner in crime, Seward Brewer Jr.
He was the founder of Pig Out Bar-B-Q of Hazlehurst in 1991, worked construction for several years, was a retired Telfair County Bus Driver and a member of Shelton Chapel United Methodist Church since 1987. He loved hunting, fishing, his family and church. He requested in 2018 that when he passed, that his daughter tell his wife that he knew he loved her the first time he saw her and that they had a good life together.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Mrs. Merle Beckworth Brewer of Lumber City; son, James Wendell Brewer of Jacksonville FL; three daughters, Lisa Brewer Kirkland of Jacksonville FL, Katherine Brewer White (Stevie White) of Lumber City, Jackie Brewer Ussery (Wesley Griffin) of Hazlehurst; sister, Betty Brown ( J.D.) of McRae; brothers, Tom Brewer (Genethel) of Hazlehurst and Tex Brewer (Margaret) of Hazlehurst; grandchildren, Colby James Brewer, Tiner James Brewer, Chasity Brook Waters, Caitlin Kirkland Gay, Amanda Crystal White, Amber Macy White, Ashley Rebecca Ussery, and Samuel Kristerphor Ussery Jr.; ten great-grandchildren also survive.
Visitation will be held Monday evening, November 29, 2021 at 5:00-7:00pm at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 11:00am at Shelton Chapel United Methodist with viewing one hour prior to funeral service, with Rev. Debra Gillis Mitchell officiating.
Interment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Googe, Aaron Beckworth, Howard Scott, Troy Shumans, Dan Ray, Jimmy Walker, Artis Wright, Larry Bruce, Sam Ussery, Keith Coley, Larry Pierce, Ricky Henderson, Freddie Coley, Richard Cameron and Randy Durden.
Active pallbearers will be Kristerphor Ussery, Jr., Colby James Brewer, Nathan Abbey, Casey Brewer, Bill Hamm and Troy McCumbers.
