Mr. James Cannon, age 63, of Hazlehurst, died Friday, December 16, 2022, at Jeff Davis Hospital.
Mr. Cannon was born December 23, 1958, in Duvall County and was preceded in death by his father, Lewis Edmond Cannon, and his sister, Gwendolyn Ann Cannon.
He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army, formerly employed with Albany Electric, and attended Oak Grove Baptist Church.
He enjoyed watching TV, including Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, and Gunsmoke and he knew exactly what time Hazel came on because he
truly enjoyed watching her. He was a giant of a man, with a simple spirit about him, loved his family dearly, and enjoyed spending time with them, especially Hunter and Devon his two nephews.
Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Mary Clarine Creamer Cannon of Hazlehurst; brother, Randy Cannon of Hazlehurst; two nephews, Hunter James Cannon and Devon Bruce Cannon, both of Hazlehurst.
Visitation and Funeral Services will be held, Wednesday, December 21, 2022, in the Chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home, the visitation will begin at 11:00 am and the funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm, with Rev. Gary Jones and Rev. John Griffin officiating.
Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be Hunter James Cannon and Devon Bruce Cannon.
Active pallbearers will be Kasey Sellers, Josh Sellers, Ricky Dyal, Daniel Ross, Dusty Powell, and Anthony Flowers.
