James Luther Hardee Jr.

James Luther Hardee Jr., age 73 of Eatonton passed away on July 25, 2023.

Mr. Hardee was born in Alma, GA to the late Mr. James Hardee Sr. and Maggie Abbott. He was a truck driver by trade for most of his life. He drove for Premier Trucker and eventually started his own company called J. Hardee Trucking. He also worked for Amacord in Lumber City. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and taking trips with his family. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jerry Sue Hardee and son, Terry Powell.

He is survived by his daughters, Kimberly Reynolds of Eatonton, and Elaine Swartz of Hazlehurst; nieces, Sandra Cervini and Sharon Cummings, 9 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren also survive.

Services for Mr. Hardee will be held Sunday July 30, 2023, at Riverside Cemetery in Lumber City beginning at 2:00 PM. The family will receive friends at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home from 12:30 until 1:30.

Serving as pall bearers will be Jimmy Powell, Ben Powell, Justin Neighbors, Scotty Carter, Brad Carter, Travis McGuire.
