Mr. James Troy Stankowitz , age 91, of Hazlehurst, died Thursday, August 04, 2022 at his residence.
Mr. Stankowitz was born November 29, 1930 in Jeff Davis County.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Troy Albert Stankowitz and Beatrice Carter Stankowitz, son, John Gary Stankowitz, grandson, SGT Britt Stankowitz, sisters, Colleen Malone, Ruth Johnson and Betty Sue Ricketson.
Mr. Stankowitz was a Business Entrepreneur all of his life. He had strong work ethics and was always busy doing something. He enjoyed going to church and enjoyed hearing the choir sing. He always was very pleasant and he possessed a quite gentle spirit. He loved his family dearly, and enjoyed spending time with them, from his wife of 62 years to the youngest great-great granddaughter, they were his life.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Smith Stankowitz of Hazlehurst; children, Marsha Stankowitz of Hazlehurst, James (Barbara) Stankowitz Jr., and Sonya (Howard) Graham of Hazlehurst; grandchildren Media Arnold Music (Jr.),Lynn Arnold Sellers, Chad Arnold (Mary Susan), James Stankowitz III (Amanda), Heather Stankowitz Hunter (Chuck), Jason Stankowitz (Angela), Shae Howe (Darren), Nikki Coyne, Matt Stankowitz, Kayle Newman (John Casey), Ashlyn Carter (Cody), Kate Malphus; thirty great-grandchildren, twelve great-greatgrandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation and Funeral Services will be held Sunday, August 07, 2022 at Hazlehurst Church of God, visitation will begin at 1:00pm and funeral will follow at 2:00pm with Rev. John Nunes officiating.
Interment will follow in the Palms Memorial Garden.
The Church Family will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
Active pallbearers will be Cody Carter, John Casey Newman, Jamie Stankowitz, Jr Music, Mason Dill and Jason Stankowitz.
The Stankowitz Family and Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home respectfully ask all in attendance to continue to follow social distancing guidelines set by our local health district and the CDC.
