Ms. Jean Newman Steptoe, age 87, of Denton, died Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Memorial Hospital in Savannah.
Ms. Steptoe was born November 01,1934 in Jeff Davis County.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Elias Newman and Marie Smith Newman, husband, Edward L. Steptoe, son, Ricky Steptoe and brother, J.M. Newman. She was retired Shipping Director with John Deere and a member of Macedonia Church of God.
Survivors include two brothers, Donnie (Betty) Newman of Denton and Garry (Sue) Newman of Denton; sister, Lurine Kirkland of Jonesboro; sister-in-law, Carolyn Newman of Denton; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews also survive.
Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at Macedonia Church of God, visitation will start at 10:00am and funeral service to follow at 11:00am with Rev. Vann McCall officiating and Special Friend, Terry Cook giving the Eulogy.
Honorary pallbearers will be Linda Hodges, Ellen Deen and her Church Family.
The Steptoe Family and Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home respectfully ask all in attendance to continue to follow social distancing guidelines set by our local health district and the CDC.
