Jeannie Wood Obituary

Mrs. Jeannie Wynn Wood, age 62, of Hazlehurst died Saturday, September 24, 2022, in her home. Jeannie was born August 16, 1960, in McRae, GA to the late Homer and Mildred Tompkins.

 

Mrs. Wood was a member of the Hazlehurst Church of Christ. She loved her family and friends. People who knew her loved her and appreciated her friendly personality. She enjoyed shopping for pretty things, especially jewelry. She also loved her dogs Patches and Fluffy.

 

Survivors include husband: Jack Pete Wood, Jr. of Hazlehurst; son: Ronnie Solomon (Krystal); daughter: Shandi McLendon (Mike); step-son: Chris Wood (Jennifer); step-daughter: Amanda Kitchens (Mike);  brother: Vernon Tompkins (Sandi); grandchildren: Presley McLendon, Joanna Hatfield, Tyler Wood, Hunter Wood, Hayden Wood; great-grandson: Cutler Hatfield.

 

Visitation and Funeral Services will be held Monday, September 26, 2022, in the Chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and the funeral will follow at 11:00 AM with Rev. Richie Howard and Rev. Bobby Lairsey officiating.

Pallbearers will be Kyle Branch, Sam Glass, Jamie Spires, Mike Kitchens, Matt Bloodworth, and Frank Stokes. The family will gather at 38 E Camilla Road Hazlehurst.

 

Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Lumber City, GA.

 

The Wood Family and Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home respectfully ask all in attendance to continue to follow social distancing guidelines set by our local health district and the CDC.
