Mr. Jimmy Adams, age 71, of Lumber City, died Tuesday, September 07, 2021 at Memorial Health University in Savannah.
Mr. Adams was born October 05, 1949 in Laurens County. He is preceded in death by his parents: Luther Alphis Adams, Maggie Eva Mercer Adams; siblings: Ted Adams, Janice Nobles, Charles Adams, Bill Adams, and Geraldine Adams.
Mr. Adams was a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Army where he received two purple hearts, was in law enforcement for more than 23 years, served as Police Chief of Lumber City for 12 years, and was a Mason. He enjoyed fishing, carpentry, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Sandra Elaine Floyd Adams of Lumber City;
son, Eric Butler (Kristi) of Hazlehurst; two daughters, Crystal Dawn Adams Taylor (Richard) of Hazlehurst and Ashley Elaine Adams Spell of Lumber City; brother, Ronnie Adams (Brenda) of Alston; sister, Glenda Adams Cannon (John) of Hazlehurst; grandchildren, Dakota Miller, Mackenzie Butler, William Carpenter, Zachary Taylor, Zoey Taylor, Jared Adams, Kadence Spell, Jaylyn Spell, Brayden Spell, Alexander Spell and Karim Spell.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 11:00am at Stuckey Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. David Dean and Rev. Glen Stinson officiating.
Active pallbearers will be Johnny Smith, Anthony Pittman, John Cannon, James Atkins, Shane McCullan and Mitch Herrington.
