Jimmy Dale Linebarger

Mr. Jimmy Dale Linebarger, age 89, of Hazlehurst, died Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at his home.

He was born on October 17, 1935 in Ashland, Mississippi and lived there until he was in his 20’s when he met his wife, Maxine, and settled in Hazlehurst. He was Baptist by faith and a member of Lighthouse Christian Fellowship Church. He retired from Jeff Davis County at the age of 88 years old. He loved gardening, keeping up his yard, and watching football. He also enjoyed collecting and crushing cans by hand.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Maxine Linebarger; his son, Larry Linebarger; and his brothers, Lee and Bobby Linebarger.

Mr. Linebarger is survived by his sons, Ronnie Dale Linebarger (Zola), and Allen Jerome Linebarger, all of Hazlehurst; his daughters, Debra Griffin (Neb) of Hazlehurst, and Brenda Gail Daniels (Freddie) of Alma; nine grandchildren, Phillip Linebarger, Tara Linebarger, Rodney Linebarger, Kayla Giddens, Jimmy Allen Linebarger, Amber Linebarger, Craig Daniels, Jeffery Daniels, and Susan Daniels Griffin; several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and his special dog who was always following by his side, Lucky.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Carter and Pastor Roger Daniel officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until just prior to the service.

Burial will follow in the Bridgeford Church of God cemetery.
