JoAnn (Herndon) Herndon

Mrs. JoAnn Herndon, age 78, of Hazlehurst, died Sunday, August 28, 2022, at her residence.

Ms. Herndon was born November 16, 1943, in Jeff Davis County.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Wolson Herndon and Grace Howard Herndon.

She retired from the United States Postal Service and attended the Church of God.  She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, riding the golf cart, watching wildlife, and fishing. She especially loved cooking and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Samuel Wright (S.W.) Herndon of Hazlehurst; three sons, Samuel Wright Herndon Jr. of Roberta, Tony Wright Herndon of Fort Valley, and Duane Wright Herndon (Deborah) of Hazlehurst; nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren also survive.

Visitation and Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, August 30, 2022, in the Chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home, visitation will begin at 11:00 am and funeral service will follow at 12 with Rev. Terry and Tammy Davis officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be all friends and family in attendance and Regency Southern Care Hospice.
