JoAnn (Hughes) Steverson

Ms. JoAnn Hughes Steverson, age 78, of Hazlehurst died Sunday, July 03, 2022 at the Pavilion in Baxley.

Ms. Steverson was born December 01, 1943 in Jeff Davis County.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dixie Hughes and Norene Hannah Hughes, brother, Baxter Hughes, sister, Patsy Holt and nieces, Rena Miles and Ashley Weitman. She was retired from Hazlehurst Mills, she enjoyed reading, spending time with family and especially her grandson, Judson.

Ms. JoAnn had a sweet gentle spirit and the sweetest disposition that anyone could ever have and you always enjoyed her company because of her sweet and contagious smile.

Survivors include her son and her daughter-in-law, Darren and Melanie Steverson of Hazlehurst; grandson, Judson Steverson of Hazlehurst; sister, Sonya Miles (Russell) of Hazlehurst; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation and Graveside Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 07, 2022, visitation will begin at 9:00am at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home and funeral service will begin at 10:30AM in the Satilla Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Keith Yawn and Terry Miles officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be all family and friends in attendance.

Active pallbearers will be Grant Miles, Tyler Miles, Kyle Miles, Kevin Hughes, Blake Claxton, and Judson Steverson.

Musical selections will be rendered by Mr. E.H. Claxton.
