Joann P. Sharpe

Mrs. Joann P Sharpe, age 74 passed away Tuesday October 27, 2020 at her residence following an extended illness.

Mrs. Sharpe was born April 3, 1946 in Baxley, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bealer Wilford Pritchett and Rena Ricketson Pritchett, husband, Moroni Grady Sharpe, a daughter, Tammy Genaw and a grandson Steven Ricketson. Mrs. Sharpe was a member of Grace Community Church of God where she served her Lord in several areas for many years. The love of her church, caring for people was an overflow of the care she had as a nurse as well as a seamstress and an Avon representative for many years.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Denise Tremper (Herb) of Hazlehurst, Three sons, Rodney Sharpe (Tammy) of Hazlehurst, Michael Sharpe (Susan) of Uvalda, and Richard Sharpe (Dena) of Macon, GA, Sisters; Geneva Hutchinson of Callahan, Florida and Linda Nix of Baxley, GA, one brother, Don Pritchett of Sevierville, TN. Several grandchildren, great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, October 30, 2020 at Grace Community Church of God with Pastor Nathan Greer officiating. Interment will follow at Hazlehurst Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers serving will be Billy Hawkins, Shaun Hawkins, Tommy Nix, Steve Pritchett, Bob Hutchinson and Kevin Sharpe.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the Sharpe family and Wainright Parlor Funeral Home respectfully ask all in attendance to wear a mask and follow the social distancing guidelines set by our local health district and the CDC.
