Joey Eugene Howard, age 60, of Hazlehurst, died Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Jeff Davis Hospital.
Mr. Howard was born July 10, 1961 in Jeff Davis County.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Frank Howard and Lucille Mincey Howard, brothers, John Frank Howard JR. and James Edward Howard (Toody). He was employed with Williams Brothers Trucking and attended New Desire Pentecostal Church. Joey was a Fun Loving fellow, never met a strange and lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his extended family, always smiling, laughing and having a great time. He was a hard worker but in his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his 4-wheeler.
Survivors include his sisters, Lucy Williams (Roger) of Hazlehurst and Dossie Howard of Hazlehurst; brother, Jerry Lynn Howard (Faye) of Dublin; extended family, Rev. Charles and Tonya Ogletree, Rev. Josh and Brittany Ogletree, and Rev. Joseph and Angela Ogletree, Lawanda and Keith Lott; Heather, Josh Jr., Carmen, Amber, Joshalynn, Julia, Jonathan, Charlie Ogletree and Jayden Lott; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation and Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 21, 2022 in the Chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home, visitation will begin at 9:00am and funeral service will follow at 10:00am with Rev. Charles Ogletree and Rev. Josh Ogletree officiating.
Interment will follow in the Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be all Family and Friends in attendance.
Active pallbearers will be Rev. Josh Ogletree Sr., Josh Ogletree Jr., Bradley Watson, Justin Newton, Collin Meeks, Matthew Hand, Hank Hand, and Thomas Guinn.
