Mr. John “Buck” Creech, age 87, of Hazlehurst, died Monday, November 06, 2023 at his residence.

Mr. Creech was born September 18, 1936 in Patterson, Georgia; he was preceded in death by his parents, the late Clarence and Lois McCall Creech a brother, James Creech, Jr. and sister, Mary Lowery.

He was a Veteran of the United States Army, member of Southside Baptist Church, and was the former owner/operator of Buck’s Pawn Shop. His family said Mr. Buck had a very strong work ethic, and was a good provider. He was a family man who loved his wife, children and grand-children dearly.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Revels Creech of Hazlehurst; children, Jan and Frank Spoon of Appling and Jimmy and Erica Simpkins of Pine Island FL; step-children, Wendy and Timmy Peacock of Mershon, GA, Carol and Petey Williams of Alma, Nicole and John Allen of Hazlehurst and Billy and Amy Taylor of Alma; brothers and sisters, Deanie Ellis of Hazlehurst, Buddy Creech of Hazlehurst, Shirley Oneil of Baxley, Gladys Rowland of Jesup and Evelyn Gunter of Sarasota, FL; caregiver, Cheree Hughes; five grandchildren, Emily Spoon, Cole Spoon, Clay Spoon, Jaime Simpkins and Casey Simpkins. nine

step-grandchildren, Jaylen, Bailey, Teddy, Shawn, Hunter, Kenzie, Alaina, Rayna and Colt; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services and visitation will be held Thursday, November 09, 2023 at Southside Baptist Church, visitation will begin at 1:00pm and funeral service will follow at 2:00pm with Rev. Thurman Hayes and Rev. Gary Roberson officiating.

Interment will follow at Wolf Pit Cemetery, 532 Wolf Pit Church Road, Nicholls Georgia.

Active pallbearers will be Steve Walter, Brandon Creech, Clay Spoon, Arthur Buford, Josh Hughes, and Duran Stapleton.

The family may be contacted at the Creech residence, 273 Broxton Highway, Hazlehurst.
