Mr. Wayne Davis, age 74, of Baxley, passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Hospice Satilla House surrounded by his family.
He was born on October 20, 1950, in Alma, Georgia to the late Robert Lee Davis and Alice Mae Spell Yarborough. He has lived most of his life in Baxley, Georgia and was a member of Lighthouse Christian Fellowship for 30 years. He also worked for Amoco Fabrics and Fiber for 25 years, and then the state road department for 12 years.
Wayne loved to play the guitar, listening to Elvis, and fishing until his health no longer allowed him to enjoy these pleasures.
He loved and adored his loving wife Betty, children, grandchildren, and great grands.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Leon Davis, Aldene Davis, Eugene Davis, R.L. Davis, sister, Irene Wood, and son-in-law, John Charles Waters.
His family includes his loving wife of 55 years, Betty Hall Davis of Baxley; son, Craig Davis (Kelly) of New Market Tennessee; daughter, Angie Waters of Hazlehurst; his sister, Lurlene Coleman (Albert) of Baxley; his grandchildren, Candace Floyd (Keith), Jenna Griffin (Kevin), Chandler Davis, Karleigh Davis, Jackson Floyd, three great-grandchildren and one to arrive soon, several nieces, nephews and friends.
The funeral services will be held, Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at 2:00pm at Lighthouse Christian Fellowship with Rev. Tyrone Hutchinson and Rev. Jinker Horton officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Zoar Baptist Cemetery, Appling County.
Honorary pallbearers will be everyone in attendance and members of Lighthouse Christian Fellowship church.
Ricky Hall, David Bohannon, Stacy Hall, Scott Yawn, Shawn Johnson, and Brent Yawn will serve as active pallbearers.
Musical selections will be rendered by Rev. Tyrone Hutchinson, Donna and Donnie McEachin.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home and the Davis Family are in charge of arrangements.
