Mr. Kenny Hurley, age 87, of Snipesville, passed away November 14, 2020 at his residence.
Mr. Hurley was born September 19, 1933 in Broxton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Veston Clinton Hurley and Kathleen Kirkland Hurley, brother, Harry Veston Hurley and grandson, Kyle Ussery.
He was a Veteran of the United States Army 82nd Airborne, deacon of Union Spring Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge member Hazlehurst #283, Farm Service Agency County Committee member for 3 year term beginning 1987, Young Farmer of the Year, substitute rural mail carrier for Denton Ga., founding member of Snipesville fire department.
Daddy loved His country, his church and fishing every chance he got. Daddy loved his family, spoiled all of his grandkids and great-grandkids and taught them all to fish and clean the ones they caught.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Wanda Ramsey Hurley of Snipesville; daughter, Sharon Hurley Ussery (Dane) of Hazlehurst; sons, Ken Hurley of Snipesville and Wayne Hurley (Alena) of Snipesville; siblings, Jerry Hurley (Betty) of Enterprise, Ala., Sue Hurley Williams of Douglas, Emily Hurley Beecher of Hazlehurst, Jimmy Dan Hurley of Dothan Ala; grandchildren, Todd Ussery (Val), Brandi Hurley Spell (Eric), Kacey Hurley (Brittany), Kayla Hurley Hall (Rick), Kellie Hurley Hollingsworth (Josh); twelve great-grandkids, several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at 11:00am at Union Springs Baptist Church with daughter, Sharon Ussery giving a Eulogy and Rev. Tommy Daniels officiating.
