Larry Reynolds

Larry Reynolds passed away on December 22, 2024, at his residence on Lake Sinclair, GA, at the age of 71, following an extended illness.

Larry Thomas Reynolds was born at Goldman's Hospital in Hazlehurst, GA, on November 16, 1953, to Fred and Modrey (Hall) Reynolds. Larry attended school in Jeff Davis County and graduated with the Jeff Davis High School Class of 1971. He enlisted in and honorably served with the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Larry was an entrepreneur involved in various business endeavors, beginning in mobile home sales and later retiring as the owner and operator of several pawn shops in the Augusta area.

He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed buying and restoring classic automobiles. His favorite times were spent with his family on the water. Known as the life of the party, Larry ensured a fun time whenever he was around. He loved entertaining friends and family with his stories and adventures.

Larry is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 41 years, LaWahna "Lou" Smith Reynolds; their two sons, Thomas Jedidiah Reynolds of North Augusta, SC, and Jared Lawrence Reynolds of Statesboro, GA. He was the proud "Pops" to three granddaughters: Rylie Rene Eash of Mesa, AZ, Ava Grace Reynolds of Augusta, GA, and Laila Kae Reynolds of Augusta, GA. Larry is also survived by his mother, Modrey Reynolds Yawn; brothers, Jimmy (Debra) Reynolds and Stanley (Ann) Reynolds; and sister, Wanda (Jerry) Rowland, all of Hazlehurst, GA. Additionally, he leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his father, Fred Reynolds; brothers, Michael Reynolds, Milton Reynolds, and Howard Reynolds; and nephew, Brian Reynolds.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home, with visitation an hour prior. Rev. Wallace Barber will officiate. Interment will follow at Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Chris Corbitt, Derek Reynolds, Miles Rowland, Shawn Rowland, Jamie Smith, and Jarrett Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will include friends in attendance.
