Leonides Marquez

Mrs. Leonides Marquez, age 83, of Hazlehurst, died Monday, November 11, 2024 at her home.

She was born on June 14, 1941 in La Vuelta Landa de Matamoros, Queretaro, Mexico where she lived all of her life before moving to Georgia three years ago. She was Catholic by faith and a member of Good Shephard Catholic Church. In her spare time she enjoyed embroidering, threading, cooking, and caring for animals.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ignacio Marquez and Merced Rubio; her husband, Rogaciano Marquez Fonseca; her brother, Valdomero Marquez; and her sister, Rosa Marquez.

She is survived by her four sons, Margarito Marquez, Crescencio Marquez, Bartolo Marquez, and Paolo Marquez; her four daughters, Ma Guadalupe Marquez, Maria Eufemia Marquez, Maria Silvera Marquez, and Lucia Marquez; her brother, Alberto Marquez; her two sisters, Jesusitas Marquez, and Adelaida Marquez; 26 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M, and again on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Hazlehurst from 11:00 A.M. until just prior to the service.

The funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Hazlehurst.

Interment will follow at Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery.
