Lewis Sellers Obituary

Lewis Monroe Sellers, 77, of Hazlehurst, passed away on October 2, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Sellers was born in Hazlehurst to the late Mr. Lewis Vernon Sellers and Mrs. Vera Yawn Sellers. He is preceded in death by his Parents. Mr. Sellers was loved by many and will be missed by many. He and Mrs. Carolyn have been married for 55 years and they both have been lifelong members of Oakview Baptist Church. He was a deacon for the church and enjoyed the outdoors and living the country life. Mr. Sellers worked 30 plus years for Gainer and Ragland Timber Company.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn Sellers, daughters, Valerie Burton (Steve), Angie Cook (Bryan), sister, Latrelle McLeod (Kennith), grandchildren, Jessica Fishchetti, Ashley Cook, Lauren Cook, great grandchildren, Peyton Fishchetti and Brooklyn Fishchetti.

Services for Mr. Sellers will be held Thursday, October 5, 2023, at Oakview Baptist Church beginning at 11:00 AM followed by interment in the church cemetery. Rev. David Barber, Rev. Keith Yawn, and Rev. Terry Reagin will officiate. The family will receive friends at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home Wednesday, October 4, 2023, beginning at 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.

The family can be reached at the home of Mrs. Angie Cook at 64 Sellers Road, Hazlehurst, GA 31539. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to Oakview Baptist Church or Community Hospice House of Vidalia.

The Sellers Family and Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home respectfully ask all in attendance to continue to follow social distancing guidelines set by our local health district and the CDC.
