Linda Faye (Wood) Davis

Ms. Linda Faye Wood Davis, age 77, of Hazlehurst, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at her residence.

Ms. Davis was born on April 21, 1947, in Jeff Davis County.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow Wood and Maxine Lutrelle Claxton Wood, her husband, James Ronnie Davis, sisters, Geraldine Stewart, Betty Ann Crawford, Mary Nell Duck, her brothers, Roger Wood, Bobby Wood and Billy Wood. She was a retired Bus driver with Jeff Davis Board of Education and a member of Southside Baptist Church.

Ms. Linda was a sweet, humble, soft spoken, gentle spirit, Christian lady. She loved her family dearly, especially the grandchildren, and she will be sadly missed.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Latrell Hesters (Jimmy) of Hazlehurst; son, Richard Davis of Hazlehurst; brother, Allen Wood (Cathy) of Hazlehurst; sister, Barbara Wood Nobles (Ray) of Hazlehurst; two grandsons, Eric Hesters (Amber) and Kyle Hesters (Marisa); two great-grandsons, Aiden Hesters and Ryker Hesters; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation and Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 01, 2024, in the Chapel of Wainright Parlor Funeral Home, visitation will begin at 11:00am and the funeral service will follow at 12:00pm with Rev. Ben Glosson officiating. Interment will follow in the Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery.

All past and present Bus drivers employed with Jeff Davis Board of Education will serve as Honorary pallbearers.

Eric Hesters, Kyle Hesters, Marshall Wood, Michael Crawford, Larry Duck, and David Behar will serve as active pallbearers.
