Lois Powell Obituary

Lois Ovella Williams Powell, age 91, of Richmond Hill, formerly of Hazlehurst, died Friday, December 16, 2022, at her son’s home.

Lois was an Air Force wife for 24 years traveling the world with her husband and son to such places as France, Germany, and Turkey.

She had worked as a Secretary/Bookkeeper at Cook and Company during the ’70s and ’80s. Her first and foremost love was for her Savior, her Family, her Church, and her Home. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hazlehurst Ga.

Her passion was cooking and it was not uncommon to find cakes and pies awaiting your arrival. Her Home was one that you would never leave hungry.

She had many friends and family members, nieces and nephews whom she cared for deeply. Lois Powell was a very warm person who got much joy from giving as opposed to receiving. A Strong testament to her faith. She will be missed dearly but now comforted with God’s hands in heaven.

Rest easy Mom, Mema, and Aunt Lois, and know that you were loved by many.

We Will see you again one day. With all our love,  Your family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Jessie Williams and Carie Wilcox Williams, and siblings, Hoke Williams, Elzie Williams, Eva May Williams White, Avery Williams, and Preston Williams. Edgar Williams, Vernon Williams, Bonnie Williams, Thomas Jessie (T.J.) Williams, Shirley LaRoache,

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Debbie Powell of Richmond Hill; grandson, Austin and Rebecca Powell of Midway; brother, Johnny Williams of N. Augusta.
