Margaret Ann (Walls) Claxton

Ms. Margaret Ann Walls Claxton, age 80, of Hazlehurst, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Jeff Davis Hospital.

Ms. Claxton was born on April 22, 1944, in Jeff Davis County.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Walls and Clydie Mae Rowland Walls, her husband, Lafiecie Claxton, daughters, Tammy D. Claxton and Teresa R. Claxton, son, Frankie D. Claxton, sister, Betty Sue Summerlin and brother, Anthony Walls. She was a Homemaker and a member of Bible Baptist Church.

Some of her favorite hobbies were watching TV, going to yard sales and auctions.  Ms. Margaret was a loving mother, an awesome cook, and she loved her family dearly. She will be sadly missed by all.

Survivors include her son, Lafiecie Kevin Claxton of Hazlehurst; brothers, James Phillip Walls of Uvalda, Paul Walls of Florida and Roscoe (Rocky) (Debra) Walls of Hazlehurst; sisters, Libby Walls Partin of Hazlehurst, Gail (Buddy) Kearney of Douglas and Darlene (Marvin) Brantley of Hazlehurst; several nieces and nephews also survived.

A visitation will be held Monday, January 13, 2025, at 5:00-7:00pm in the Chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at 2:00pm at Bible Baptist Church with Rev. Manford Gilbert officiating.  Ms. Margaret will be placed in the church at 1:00pm. Interment will follow in the Hazlehurst City Cemetery.
