Martha (Anderson) Lairsey

Ms. Martha Anderson Lairsey, age 80, of Hazlehurst, died Sunday, February 27, 2022 at Community Hospice in Vidalia.

Ms. Lairsey was born February 22, 1942 in Jeff Davis County.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Roy Anderson and Susie Rowell Anderson, her husband, Clifford Lairsey, and several brothers and sisters. She was a Homemaker and her family often bragged on her cooking.  Besides cooking, she enjoyed gardening and fishing.  She was a member of the Hazlehurst Church of Christ, who loved life to the fullest, loved to laugh, loved her family dearly and loved spending time with them, especially the grandchildren, who knew her as the best grandma.

Survivors include her two sons, Jerry Lairsey of Hazlehurst and Bobby Lairsey (Tammy) of Hazlehurst; sister, Louise Anderson of Hazlehurst; five grandchildren, Troy (Alex) Lairsey, Jace Lairsey, Jeromy Lairsey, Jason Lairsey, Kimberly (Brandon) Phillips; three great-grandchildren, Avi, Jaydon and Lincoln; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation and Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 03, 2022 at Hazlehurst Church of Christ, visitation will begin at 11:00am and funeral service at 12pm with her son Minister Bobby Lairsey officiating.

Interment will follow in the Philadelphia Baptist Church.

Honorary pallbearers will be all Family, Friends in attendance and Staff of Community Hospice.

Active pallbearers will be Jace Lairsey, Troy Lairsey, Brandon Phillips, Jeromy Lairsey, Jason Lairsey and Josh Odom.

The Lairsey Family and Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home respectfully ask all in attendance to continue to follow social distancing guidelines set by our local health district and the CDC.
