Ms. Mary Lee Nash McLoon, age 93, of Hazlehurst, passed away Saturday, January 04, 2025, at Hazlehurst Court Care.
Ms. McLoon was born September 18, 1931, in Irwin County.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin Asbury Nash and Maude Lucille Osborn Nash, husband, L.T. McLoon, son Huey McLoon and brother, Talmadge Nash.
She was a retired Heat Set Inspector with Hazlehurst Mills, a member of Southside Baptist Church and the Jolly Friends, which she enjoyed so much.
Ms. Mary Lee was a true Southern Christian Lady with a deep love for her children and especially the grandchildren. She was a lady of strong will, and of a loving character, she loved reading her bible, doing puzzles, and was a great cook. She definitely took her job as mother and grandmother very seriously. And always had a contagious smile for everyone and never was ashamed to tell people about her Jesus. She will be sadly missed by all.
Her family includes, her son and daughter-in-law, Larry Don and Elaine McLoon of Douglas; her two daughters and sons-n-law, Connie McLoon Moody and Eddie of Hazlehurst and Cathy McLoon Foskey and Jeff of Dublin; brothers, J.T. Nash of Hazlehurst and half-brother, Jimmy Dixon of Oklahoma; half- sister, Lucille McEachin of Hazlehurst; eight grandchildren, Leigh McLoon, Sandi Rentz, Crystal Lucas, Joseph McLoon, Susanne Augusta, Brian Carver, Jeremy Cason and Jordan Cason; 25 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 2:00pm at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Jeffery Spell, grandsons, Jeremy Cason and Brian Carver officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
The staff and employees of Hazlehurst Court Care will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Brian Carver, Jeremy Cason, Jett Cason, Jordan Cason, Jarvis Marchant, Kellan Lucas and Camden Carver will serve as active pallbearers.
Musical selections will be rendered by Rev. Jeffery Spell.
