Melissa Ann (Rowland) Hughes

Melissa Ann Rowland Hughes, age 53, of Hazlehurst, died Sunday, August 18, 2024 at her home.

She was born on June 22, 1971 to Arvin and Dorothy Carter Rowland. She was a member of Cromartie Church of God. She loved the beach and the river as well as going fishing and camping. She loved everybody and tried to help everyone she could. She also loved her chihuahua, Sweet Pea. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her two sons, Brandon and Dustin Rowland, both of Hazlehurst; her brother, Greg Rowland of Lumber City; six grandchildren, Levi, Madison, Lexi, Brailyn, Logan, and Brant Rowland; her niece, Amber Yawn and husband Jonathan; her nephew, Garrett Rowland and Brent Miller; her great-nieces, Sydney and Alyssa Yawn; and numerous cousins, Victoria, Molly and Nora Foskey, Ann and Jeff Johns, Larry, Terry, Gary, James, and Gene Rollins, Ben, Hubie, and Aron Robertson, Samantha, Dakota, and Nick, Dennis, and Josh Smith.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home.
