Mr. Michael Ottis Tanner, age 59, of Denton, died Tuesday, February 09, 2021, at Vista Park Nursing Home, in Douglas.
Mr. Tanner was born September 15, 1961, in Jeff Davis County. He is preceded in death by his father, Ottis Tanner and maternal grandparents, Martin and Eula Mae McLoon.
Mr. Tanner lived an impactful life, always lighting up the room. Mike enjoyed going to Pineland Service Center, where he saw his friends. Mike loved his family with his whole heart. He loved Elvis, wrestling, heavy equipment, and planning the next fish fry. When asked, “Where does Jesus live?” His answer was always, “in my heart.” He was a member of Denton Baptist Church. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his mother and step-father, Linda McLoon Williams and Dennis Williams of Denton; sister, Malinda Maness (William) of Statesboro; brother, Kevin Williams of Hazlehurst; nephew, Dr. Jason (Rebecca) Williams of Statesboro; nieces, Julianna (Chris) Clifton of Bloomingdale, Amber (Brendon) Sapp of Claxton, Kali and Kenzi Williams of Douglas, and their mother, Missy Givens.
Graveside funeral services will be held Friday, February 12, 2021, at 11:00am, in the Denton Cemetery with Rev. Van McCall officiating.
Active pallbearers will be William Maness, Dr. Jason Williams, Brendon Sapp, Chris Clifton, Eddie Tanner, and Bruce Tanner.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the Tanner family and Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home respectfully ask all in attendance to wear a mask and follow the social distancing set by our local health district and the CDC.
