Ms. Nancy L. Smith, age 75, of Snipesville, gained her angel wings and flew to her heavenly home on Tuesday, February 22, 2022.
Ms. Smith was born August 13, 1946 in Telfair County.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Ernest Smith; son, Timothy Smith; parents, WA Pittman and Ruth Webster Pittman Boughman and siblings, Aaron Pittman, Ira Neal Pittman, Bobby Pittman and Anette Dyer.
Mrs. Smith was a retired postmaster with the United States Postal Service. She was also a hairdresser for many years. She was a charter member of Macedonia Church of God where she played the organ for many years. She was a devoted mama, nana, Christian and friend.
She loved to cook and bake cakes, was an avid fisherman, and could grow about anything in her garden. She was loved and will be greatly missed by many.
Survivors include her son, Wendell (Debbie) Smith; grandchildren, Nikki (Brandon)Huffaker, Drew (Stephanie) Smith, and Lynn Hayes;
great-grandchildren, Marley Huffaker, Eli Hayes, and Chloe Hayes; brother, Reece Pittman; and special niece, Debra McFadyen.
Visitation and funeral services will be held at Macedonia Church of God on Friday, February 25, 2022, visitation will begin at 12 and funeral services will follow at 1pm with Rev. Van McCall officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers are Johnny Faulk, Jerry Wooten, Kelvin Wooten, Jerry Ashley Wooten, Jack Sparkman and Ayden Muhs.
Honorary pallbearers are Murrel and Lettie Mae Wooten, James and Betty Sue Tate, Teresa Faulk, Betty Sparkman, Judy Carter, Alyce Smith, Shelia Lott, Ashlyn Gray, the adult Sunday School class and the Snipesville Community.
