Nell (Ellis) Harper

Ms. Nell Ellis Harper, age 84, of Hazlehurst, died Saturday July 27, 2024, at her residence.

Ms. Harper was born on April 13, 1940, in Jeff Davis County.

She is preceded in death by her parents Amos Ellis and Mamie Burkett Ellis, a daughter, Gayla Ann Harper, two sons, Keith Harper and Kent Harper, brother, Tom Ellis and sister, Ruth Adams.

Ms. Nell was the owner and operator of Harper Accounting for about 50 years and a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church.

Ms. Nell might have been small in stature, but she had a great big heart, and personality, always giving to others. She liked playing cards with her friends and she enjoyed playing the piano and organ at church.

She will be truly missed by all.

Survivors include her two grandsons, Keith Harper of Hazlehurst and Weston Horton of Hazlehurst; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation and Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, July 31, 2024, in the Chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home, visitation will begin at 10:00am and funeral service will follow at 11:00 with Rev. Keith Yawn. Interment will follow in the Denton Cemetery.

Wesley Adams, Travis Adams, Reese Wildes, Dallas Adams, Tu Tran, Chuck Simpson will serve as active pallbearers.
