Ray Carol (Wood) McCall

Mrs. Ray Carol Wood McCall, age 84, of Hazlehurst passed away Saturday, May 10, 2025, at her residence.

Mrs. McCall was born on July 03, 1940, in Jeff Davis County.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard Alvandas Wood and Birdie Ray Wood, sisters, Jean Newell, JoAnn Cauley and Lynette Wilcox.

She was an amazing wife, mother and nana. Her family said she would set for hours putting puzzles together, and she had a green thumb, she could grow any kind of flowers.   

She loved her family dearly, especially those grandchildren and it was her job to spoil them rotten.   In earlier years, if you stopped by First Methodist Church, Mrs. Ray Carol was the first face you would see because she was their secretary for over thirty years. She will be sadly missed by all.

Her family includes her husband of 67 years, Clyde McCall of Hazlehurst; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Steven Revell of Hazlehurst; two sons and daughter-in-law, Gary McCall and Stanley (Elaine) McCall both of Hazlehurst; sister, Martha Jane (Leonard) Dykes of Hazlehurst; brother, L.A. (Margret Angel Lee) Wood of Hazlehurst; grandchildren, Clyde McCall, Daniel McCall, Sheldon McCall, Spencer McCall, Stoney McCall, Jordan Revell and Kailie Revell;  great grands, Kella McCall, Luke McCall, Alara McCall, Walker McCall, William McCall, Madison McCall (Dutton), Justus McCall, Carralia McCall, Kristina, McCall, Bentley McCall, Ella Grace McCall and Stone McCall; great-great-grandchildren, Emmie Dutton, Baylor Ray McCall and April Marie McCall; several nieces and nephews also survived.

Visitation and Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at the First Baptist Church of Hazlehurst, visitation will begin at 1:00pm and the funeral service will follow at 2:00pm with Rev. Brad Waters and Rev. Van McCall officiating.

Interment will follow in the Palms Memorial Gardens with Rev. Rick Brown officiating.

Mrs. Ray Carol’s Sunday School class, Ladies 1 and all in attendance will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Her grandson’s Clyde McCall, Daniel McCall, Sheldon McCall, Spencer McCall, Stoney McCall and Jordan Revell will serve as active pallbearers.

Musical selections will be rendered by Mrs. Angie McCall.
