Richard Perry Nabors

Mr. Richard Perry Nabors, age 88, of Hazlehurst, died Thursday Morning, September 24, 2020 at his residence.

Mr. Nabors was born September 20, 1932 in Jeff Davis County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elliott Nabors and Gertrude McDaniel Nabors Waldron, daughter, Kim Nabors and brothers, Roy Nabors and Carey Waldron. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, and was retired from AT & T with 33 years of service. He was a proud supporter of the Georgia Sheriffs Youth Ranch and was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Shirley Myers Nabors, of Hazlehurst; daughter and son-in-law, Lynn Nabors Gorrell and Michael of Hilton Head; four grandchildren, Ashley and Eric McEachin, Noah Gorrell, Bella Gorrell and Lilah Gorrell; three great-grandchildren, Kade Mills, Korin McEachin and Kyla McEachin; several nieces and nephews also survive.  

Graveside services will be held Sunday, September 27, 2020 at 2:00 PM at     Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Keith Yawn officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the Georgia Sheriffs Youth Ranch, 5671 Hwy 122, Hahira, Georgia 31632.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the Nabors family and Wainright Parlor Funeral Home respectfully ask all in attendance to wear a mask and follow the social distancing guidelines set by our local health district and the CDC.
