Robert Lee Westfall Obituary

Mr. Robert Lee Westfall, age 87, of Hazlehurst, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the Amber Grove Griffin Park Facility in Claxton.


He was born on June 23, 1938, in Spencer, West Virginia. He was a veteran of the United States Army and worked for the New Smyrna Beach, Florida Police Department for 20 years. He then retired from the Volusia County Sheriff’s Department as a Deputy after another 20 years of dedicated service. Robert was a member of Oakland Baptist Church.


Robert is preceded in death by his sisters, Shirley Sheppard, and Norma Harper; and his brother, Arden Ray Westfall.


He is survived by his wife, Shirley Westfall of Hazlehurst; his sons, Chris Westfall (Michelle) of South Daytona, Florida, and Steven Brown (Amanda) of Dawsonville; his daughter, Donna Gove (David) of Hazlehurst; his brothers, Larry Westfall (Kathy) of Edgewater, Florida, and Ivan Westfall (Ollie) of West Virginia; his sisters, Rita Winters (Sherman) of Crown Point, Indiana, Donna Keeton, and Peggy Lesson; his grandchildren, Addison Brown, Beau Westfall, Trevor Westfall, Mitchell Westfall, Matthew Westfall, and Robert Westfall; and several great-grandchildren.


Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 12:00 P.M. in the chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home with Rev. Stan Taylor officiating and military honors rendered by the Jeff Davis County Veterans Association.


Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.


Burial will follow in the Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Florida State Fraternity of Police, 242 Office Plaza, Tallahassee, Florida  32301.
