Ronald Lamar “Bucky” Wood, age 56, of Hazlehurst, died Sunday, February 12, 2023, at Jeff Davis Hospital.

 

Mr. Wood was born in Jeff Davis County on August 02, 1966.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Wood, maternal grandparents, Albert and Olif (Bazemore) Partin and paternal grandparents, Tom and Willie Pearl (Urssery) Wood, and stepbrother, Johnny Thompkins.

He was previously employed with Edge Brothers Trucking and was a Satilla Free Will Baptist Church member.

He enjoyed fishing and listening to all kinds of music. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them.

 

Survivors include his wife, Tamatha Newell Wood of Hazlehurst; sons, Ronnie Lamar Wood of Hazlehurst, Jamie Durrant of Hazlehurst, and Lee Chavis of Hazlehurst; mother, Mrs. Grace Partin Wood of Denton; sister, Elaine Douglas (Jimmy) of Denton; step-brother, Ricky Thompkins of Warner Robins; eleven grandchildren also survive.

 

A Graveside Memorial Service will be held Monday, February 20, 2023, at 2:00 pm in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Kenyon Fennell officiating.
