Mr. Russell John Coleman, better known as “Russ”, age 44, passed away Monday, January 27, 2025.
Russ was born on November 07, 1980, in Coffee County, but he made Jeff Davis County his home.

He was a member of the “1999” graduating class of Jeff Davis County High School, employed with Walmart Distribution, and attended Hillcrest Baptist Church.
Russ lived life to the fullest. One goal in his life was to make people laugh, and he did a great job at that, during his senior year, he was given the senior superlative of “Wittest” by his classmates. He was kindhearted, a skilled carpenter, enjoyed reading, and loved listening to all genres of music. His work ethics were impeccable, and he had worked since he was 15 years old.
He loved his family and especially loved and enjoyed spending time with his son. The Next time you see a “Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cake”, please think of Russ, and smile, because he definitely had a love for them.
Survivors include his son, Jonas Eli Coleman of Hazlehurst; parents, Gary and Suzanne Hulett Coleman of Hazlehurst; brother and sister-in-law, Brent and Ali Coleman of Hazlehurst; step-son, Chaston Googe of Hazlehurst; step-daughter, Kinsley McNair of Augusta; niece and nephews, Gavin Coleman, Garrison Coleman, Everli Coleman and Jensen Coleman; and several cousins also survive.
